This collection of stories was recorded in the summer and fall months of 2011 in Allegheny and Garrett counties in Western Maryland. These stories were collected to be a part of the artist Pamela Paulsrud's ongoing "Treewhispers" project.

Beth Barbush is a community artist, photographer, and story collector. She is currently living in Cambridge, Maryland working for the Maryland Humanities Council developing public dialogues programs around agricultural and environmental issues on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
